For the record this old shop teacher uses Castro Syntec 5-50 and has experienced no clutch or other problems. I get it by the case at COSTCO and it (the case of 12) lasts a year or longer. Filter and both o-rings along with drain plug gasket gets renewed each oil change also. I feel the synthetic has a greater ability to deal with any heat problems, and circulates better on startup. Some folks seem tp have had lack of lubrication on start up problems or concerns. I don't drive it slow for 3 miles like some have suggested. 5 weight will get there by the time my gloves are on and the choke is ready to come off the intermediate step. I live where it is warm now. Had to choke longer Mar-June there. I cannot support the 15-50 plea, but many folks have had great luck with it. Max
